We have gathered the most common question about our products here.

How do i install my speaker?

Plug in the power cable, switch the speaker on, press the bluetooth button on the back, select your Transparent Speaker from the list of available bluetooth-devices on your phone or computer. Voila!

You can also play through the 3.5 mm cable that is included with your purchase.

What is the difference between the small and large speaker?

The large speaker has more power and a separate woofer, this means it can play deeper bass sounds on a louder volume. In general the large speaker plays louder, and it also offers knobs for not only volume but for bass and treble for additional fine tuning of the sound.

Connecting to existing sound system?

If you have an existing separate amplifier used with TV and other home entertainment the easiest way to include our speaker range is to use an RCA to mini jack cable and plug in to the back/bottom of our speakers. If you have a Google Home system you can use a Chromecast Audio™ in/under our speakers to connect to your existing system over Wifi. Our speakers can also be part of an existing Sonos™ system. Use a Sonos Connect or AMP hub and plug in to our speaker(s) via cable. These Sonos Hubs are a bit bigger so they don't fit inside our speakers.

Connecting to your TV

Our Transparent Speaker is a great match together with your TV and movies. You can connect it either through cable (if your TV has a 3,5mm or RCA line out) or wireless through Bluetooth connection (most new TVs have this option).

Can i use apple airport or google chromecast?

The Apple Airport Express™, although discontinued at Apple is still a popular wireless device in peoples’ homes. It can be hidden and powered inside our large Transparent Speaker, and set up through the Apple device interface. Some customers, shops etc use an app called Airfoil™ to play to several speakers simultaneously over Wi-Fi.

Google Chromecast can be used in both our speaker sizes. It can conveniently be utilized as a multi-room Wi-Fi music setup. Please email us and we will send instructions on how to set up a Wifi-multiroom system with our speakers. It´s easier than you think.

What should I in general think about before buying a speaker?

What size is the room you want to place the speaker in, and what will your primary usage be like? For example: one of our large speakers can easily fill a large living room and create a proper dance floor. Our smaller speaker is perfect for everyday listening in apartment living rooms, kitchens or bedrooms.

What is your plan to reduce the climate impact?

Going forward we intend to gradually cultivate and measure our closed loop product system, and we will share the progress as we make progress. By doing this we aim to radically reduce CO2 emissions compared to an average tech product lifecycle, and also inspire the industry to follow with similar efforts. We aim to have our first measuring data sets of this progress during 2020. We also measure the impact of our company at large and have defined and started following the policies of our daily work in terms of travelling, waste creation, food etc.

How is the sound?

We are very proud of our sound. We collaborate with very experienced partners that have made high-quality audio equipment for over 40 years. With their help, we have developed the acoustic design, our custom speaker drivers, and the tuning of the whole system. We aim for a “transparent” sound, which means striving for accurate reproduction of a recording, the real intention of the musician.

What does the technical specifications mean?

Output Power: Watt is a measure of electrical power. As an amplifier processes sound, the output is measured in watts. In general there is a correlation between output power and loudness (although loudness is measured in decibel). All speakers have a maximum number of watts that they can cope with and in our tech specs we tell you what this is for our various models.

Frequency response: Describes the range of audible frequencies the speaker can reproduce between 20 Hz (deep bass) and 20 kHz (a piercingly high frequency), which is considered the range of human hearing. In reality, our hearing does not typically extend up to 20 kHz (especially as we get older), and bass frequencies below 30 Hz tend to be felt more than heard.

Does the electric wire connect in my socket/outlet?

If you bought the speaker in EU/UK we include cables for these markets (Type C for EU and type G for UK). If you bought the speaker in US we include US cable (type A). All Small Transparent Speakers include C/A plugs.

What is a Wi-Fi Module and what is it used for?

The Transparent Wi-Fi Module is a wireless sound streamer that turns your speakers into a Wireless Multi-room sound system by connecting to your home Wi-Fi network. In other words this means that you can play synchronized music in multiple rooms in your home. For instance if you got one speaker in your bedroom and one in your living room, with an easy setup you can then enjoy your music in both rooms.

Do I need a Wi-Fi Module?

No, the Wi-Fi Module just gives you the option to stream music using your Wi-Fi and to stream music simultaneously to multiple speakers.

Can I use the Wi-Fi Module with my current Transparent Speaker?
Depending on when you bought your speaker, there might be a few extra setups you need to consider.

Does the Wi-Fi Module work with all networks?

The Wi-Fi Module is only compatible with a 2.4G Wi-Fi router.

How does Wi-Fi connection compares to Bluetooth 5.0?

The biggest difference is that Bluetooth only allows for short-range data transfer between devices while Wi-Fi connection lets you have a maximum range of 30 meters. As long as you got a good Wi-Fi connection the speakers can be connected. Bluetooth 5.0 also limits the number of devices that can connect at one time, with the Wi-Fi Module you can connect up to 7 devices.

Can I connect the Wi-Fi Module to other speaker brands than Transparent?

Yes, as long as the speaker got a USB connection and a line in jack it should be all good to go.

Does the Wi-Fi Module support AirPlay?

Yes!

Does the Wi-Fi Module support streaming from Spotify?

Yes! Make sure you have a Spotify Premium account and stream it using the Spotify App, or just play on an iPhone and Airplay it.

What is the maximum range?

We recommend a maximum range of 30 meters.

How many Wi-Fi modules can I connect to build a multi-room setup?

You can connect up to 7 Wi-Fi modules. P

Do I need one Wi-Fi Module per speaker?

Yes, you need one Wi-Fi Module per speaker you'd like to connect.

How do I play in stereo or multi-room setup?

Bluetooth

Bluetooth connecting or Wifi (Don’t use both at the same time) explain more details.

The Wifi module should be mounted in the bottom compartment. It uses two cables: a USB cable to the USB socket for power, and a 3,5mm audio cable for music. When this cable is plugged in it will be the prioritized music source, this means the built-in Bluetooth in the Small Transparent Speaker can’t be used/heard as long as the Wifi music cable is plugged in. Start with a factory reset of your speaker. You do this by pressing the Bluetooth button for about 10 seconds. And please also forget the devices from your phone before you try to connect again. - Make sure your speaker is” forgotten” in your BlueTooth list. Long press to factory reset both speakers. Make sure both speakers are "forgotten" in your Bluetooth list.

Start with a factory reset of both you’re two speakers. You do this by pressing the BlueTooth button for about 10 seconds. And please also forget the devices from your phone before you try to connect again. - Make sure both speakers are ”forgotten” in your BlueTooth list. Long press to factory reset both speakers. Make sure both speakers are "forgotten" in your Bluetooth list. Do a True Wireless Pairing sequence on both speakers and wait until both show up in your Bluetooth list on your phone. Select one of them. After the True Wireless pairing is successful they should automatically go into "Left" and "Right" mode. If you have two speakers with different age models they will appear with the same name in your list, but try to select your newer STS model so that one will say "Left" when the TWS pairing has been successful (and your older model says "right"). This actually means your newer model will be "master" and the older one "slave". Otherwise, just select one.

I am connected via Bluetooth but no sound comes from the speaker. It looks like it's playing on Spotify but there is no sound.

Forget, reset and reconnect: First of all find all devices in your home that were previously connected to your Transparent Speaker via Bluetooth (smartphones, laptops, tablets, TVs…). Go to the Bluetooth settings menu in all these devices and find a list of “my devices” or similar. Choose to “forget” or “delete” or “erase” the Transparent Speaker from this list. This is because some devices might block or automatically steal the Bluetooth connection from the device you actually want to use. Make sure your Transparent Speaker is turned on and flip it on its side. Disconnect any music cables from the front or bottom line in the socket. Press and hold the bottom side button for 10 seconds until you see a fast-blinking white light. Wait a short while until the LED is solid white again. Now the FW is reset. Press the button again with a normal short click to activate the Bluetooth pairing mode. Find the Transparent Speaker in the Bluetooth list on your preferred device. Now try to use your speaker again. If there are no issues you can start adding more devices one by one if you wish. Perhaps you will find which one is causing you trouble. Make sure there is no music cable connected to the front or bottom line in the socket while trying to play via Bluetooth. When a cable is plugged in it will be the prioritized music source, this means the built-in Bluetooth in the Transparent Speaker can’t be used/heard as long simultaneously.

The speaker doesn’t connect to my device?

Some people are used to their speakers automatically showing up in the device's Bluetooth list. In the Transparent Speaker you need to press the Bluetooth button to put it in Bluetooth Pairing mode, then you can find and select it in your device’s Bluetooth list. This is only necessary the first time you connect it. Next time you turn on your Transparent Speaker it should automatically connect again to your device. Alternatively, you can navigate to your Bluetooth list of known devices and select the Transparent Speaker manually. No need to press the button every time. If your Transparent Speaker is connected to many devices it might have reached its maximum, or some other issue relating to multipoint (several devices). Then first follow the steps in “Forget, reset and reconnect” before adding your new device.

The music stops suddenly…

Forget, reset and reconnect.

The connection is bad, the music is cracking up.

Make sure your playing device is in the same room and preferably within 7 meters of range from your Transparent Speaker. Before giving up please follow the steps in “Forget, reset and reconnect” and see if the situation has improved.

Delivery

Where is my order?

Once you order is shipped from our warehouse you'll receive a shipping confirmation email; click on your tracking link on this email to view the up to date tracking for follow your delivery.!

Do you ship internationally?

We ship worldwide, with the exception of Russia.
If you cannot find your desired destination country in the shipping list, please contact the Transparent customer support at [email protected].

Import duties & custom?

Items shipped within the EU and United States are shipped with a DDP (Delivered Duty Paid), which means that tax and duties are included in the purchase price.

All orders outside EU and United States the customer pays DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) which means that VAT is not included in the purchase price.
You will get contacted by customs once the shipment arrives and you will have to settle any charges in order for customs to release the shipment and allow your goods to be delivered.

It should be noted that Transparent has no control over these charges and, since these charges differ between countries, Transparent cannot predict their amount. Transparent advises the Customer to contact the local customs office for further information.

If you don't pay for the VAT costs and the order gets shipped back to us, we will charge you for the shipping costs.

Where do you ship from?

United States, Canada and Mexico are shipped from our warehouse in Gilroy, United States.
Our European and international order are shipped from our warehouse in Stockholm, Sweden.

How long is the delivery time?

Our goal is always to get your order delivered as quickly as possible.
The estimated delivery date depends on the country and the shipping alternative you choose.

Standard delivery time is estimated to 3-5 business days within the EU and the US.
Standard delivery time is estimated to 5-7 business days worldwide.

Why have I not received an order confirmation by email?

If an order was placed and processed successfully, you should have received an automated order confirmation in your email inbox. If still haven't received an order confirmation sent through email, please start by checking your spam inbox.

I have received a damaged item, what do I do?

Even though we make meticulous controls on our products, it is still possible that, in rare cases, they are faulty.
If you discover that your product has a manufacturing or material fault, please contact us at [email protected]

Send us an e-mail where you:

  • Shortly describe the damage and how it occurred
  • A copy of your receipt
  • Take images and/or record a short video clip showing the damage/problem
  • Please do attach the images in a format of ZIP or JPEG and name the email “Damaged”

    Are you ordering from the UK?

    For goods valued at more than £135, you as customer is responsible for paying VAT in the UK. VAT can be paid via deferred VAT accounting or via the customs declaration.
